Dan Claar founded Minnesota Outdoor Solutions in 1995.  He has over 20 years’ experience in the landscaping industry.  He has served on numerous advisory committee’s in the industry, including the Byrn Mawr Land Use Committee Chair for the city of Minneapolis (2004-2009).  Dan’s business model is simple: Maintain the highest possible installation standards, only work with quality products and only hire the quality people to complete the installation.  Our team of project managers has been with Minnesota Outdoor Solutions for a combined 35 years with the shortest tenure being 8 years!  This is virtually unheard of in the landscape industry!  Dan resides in Minnetonka with his wife Julie and their two children.

Our process:  Our process is simple too.  We start by providing you with an on-site consultation with Dan.  Here ideas are exchanged, a vision is created.  We then use our CAD program to design and define scope of work and an estimate to outline the economics.  We do all of this at no charge to the customer.  We then move forward with installation.  This starts with a survey of the project area.  Site drainage is the single most important element to any landscape.  We then provide the customer “real life” illustration of what we will install.  For hardscapes this includes patio/wall layout for plantings it includes plant placement before plant installation.  Our goal to provide complete transparency to eliminate potential issues.
